My new Lumix G2 will, I think, allow me to get rid of my Lumix Bridge camera and my Panasonic video camera. It’s a micro four-thirds which, if you don’t know, is sort of like a DSLR but smaller because it does away with the prism-and-mirror arrangment of a conventional SLR / DSLR.
While Helen’s still trying to get to grips with her grand’s worth of Nikon D300S (and that’s without the several more £1000s of lenses) I’m getting along with the sub-£500 G2 and taking some test videos. Here’s one from our pre-Xmas trip to Sweden:
But now I have to learn all about video. Proper video, on DSLRs. Flattening colour, etc, for proper post-shooting work…the 180 rule for shutter speed…it’s all very complicated. But here’s another taken in complete ignorance, before I deflated somewhat after learning how much there was to learn.
