The Metro Hotel

A soldier home on leave after being injured in Afghanistan was refused a room by a hotel when he showed his military ID card at reception.

Corporal Tomos Stringer, 23, from Gwynedd, was visiting a wounded colleague in Surrey when he was turned away from the Metro Hotel in Woking.

He spent the night in his car after being told it was management policy not to accept military personnel.

BBC, Soldier is refused room at hotel

The hotel is Metro Hotel, Woking. I suggest everyone simply boycotts the place.

I’ll leave you with a bit of Kipling:

I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, 'We serve no red-coats 'ere.
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed and giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again, an' to myself sez I:
Oh, it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' 'Tommy, go away':
But it's 'Thank you, Mister Atkins,' when the band begins to play -
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
Oh, it's 'Thank you, Mister Atkins,' when the band begins to play.

Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' 'Tommy, 'ow's yer soul?'
But it's 'Thin red line of 'eroes' when the drums begin to roll -
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
Oh, it's 'Thin red line of 'eroes when the drums begin to roll.

Management policy? That sort of management couldn’t manage a monkeys’ tea party. I really hope everyone boycotts the place.

I’m offended but not surprised I will refuse to stay at this hotel if I ever go to the UK. Anti Military and AntiAmerican. The UK was once a proud Nation. I fear it has been sold out to Islam and socialist communism. I fear there is no England now as in the song by Pink Floyd I am a retired US Army medic and I consider all British military my brethern Hopefully it is not too late for England and the US . There are still brave British Tars and Tommys out there somewhere

The Metro Hotel Woking is a total disgrace, and their management’s insult to our soldiers is unforgivable. BOYCOT THIS DUMP !
