al-Qaeda, a militant Islamic group thought to have been behind a number of other attacks on US targets

The BBC, leaving open the possibility that al Qaeda hasn’t been behind other attacks

It is classed as a terrorist organisation by the UK government

The BBC, refusing to call a spade a spade.

Andrew Sullivan’s called them on it:

Beyond parody: an almost Jihadist account of the 9/11 attacks to educate children by the BBC. No mention of al Qaeda’s goals; no mention of its preceding the first Persian Gulf war; describing al Qaeda almost entirely as a response to US foreign policy.

Andrew Sullivan, the BBC and 9/11

and the BBC has lied in response to criticism.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
