| January 2nd, 2007I knew I shouldn’t have bothered, but there we are. I took a link from a posting on Tom Coates’s Plastic Bag weblog to an item on Lifehacker about iTunes. And what did I find in the first comment? The word copacetic.
I had to look it up. It means, ‘Ok’, or ’satisfactory’, apparently. Dictionary.com says the origin’s unknown, worldwidewords says it’s i rare to the point of invisibility outside North America
, most of the results for the word on Google’s first page are links to dictionary definitions of the word rather than examples of use.
Why bother?
