TheyWorkForYou is the new website from the MySociety / DowningStreetSays crowd. It’s currently being beta-tested and is, essentially, Hansard brought to life on the web.
I have an RSS feed of recent appearences from my MP, Simon Thomas (Plaid, Ceredigion) and I see from the website that he:
- Spoke in parliament 138 times in the last year — 112th out of 657 MPs.
- Asked 178 written questions in the last year — 78th out of 657 MPs.
- Replies to 58% of messages sent via FaxYourMP.com within 14 days — 340th out of 588 MPs.
- Has attended 76% of votes in parliament
— 195th out of 658 MPs. (From Public Whip) - hardly ever rebels against his party — 503rd out of 650 MPs.(From Public Whip)
Under ‘well-known issues’ I read that Simon’ s pro-hunting, which is I suppose what might be expected in a rural constituency like his. He also signed an Early Day Motion supporting National Pubs Week, which is endearing.
Good work
